Bagangelo
A young and rising star, Bagangelo is an artist whose work rivals Misteline’s, especially amongst the younger artists of the city who see Bagangelo as the next ’big thing’. His name is an obvious alias, and his real name and identity are a mystery. What is known about him is his insatiable appetite for women, his infamous behaviour when drunk and his blatant disregard for convention.
Bagangelo is a short, chubby man in his late twenties. He dresses casually, even untidily and is often seen cavorting about the city unshaven and drunk. He is jovial by nature, but excessively vain and jealous of most any competition. His features have a foreign look about them, something of the southerner perhaps, but his accent and mannerisms belong entirely to the middle classes of Takshendal.
Curiously he does not promote himself at the expense of Misteline, whom he has several times lauded in public, hailing the elder artist as ’the sole maestro of the city.’ Naturally both artists live in the Armorial Quarter which is the artistic heart of Takshendal, and thus are practically neighbours. Consequently they know each other very well, and each takes a keen interest in the projects of the other. Unlike Misteline, Bagangelo lives alone and has only a single apprentice as yet, a young student named Oliver Taprattle.
Bagangelo is not a homosexual.
