Edna Shufflewick was recently widowed, and for the last several weeks has been living with with her brother Doctor Giffshank. There is something of the dramatist about Edna, a strange over dressed flamboyance which sits at odds with her heavy jawed features and piercing eyes. Since moving in with her brother she has been seen having trouble with the local children who seem to take great delight in pulling at her clothing and laughing at her discomfort.
